Twenty-eight mounted coloured nude photographs of black models (1 one front cover), taken in 1981-82 in California and Maine by the famous French photographer Lucien Clergue (born 1934), undoubtedly shot during workshops organised at Carmel and Rockport by a.o. Ansel Adams. Work by Clerque has been exhibited in a.o. Museum of Modern Art, New York, Kunstgewerbe Museum, Zürich and Shadaï Gallery, Tokyo, whereas his work is present at the Bibliothèque Nationale at Paris, the Royal Library at Copenhague and the Metropolitan Museum of Art at New York.
