Planches. Tome VI: Nos. 81 à 190. George Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon (1707 - 1788) was the most important French naturalist of his days. The superb plates were designed by Meunier of the Cabinet d'Histoire Naturelle and lithographed by Burggraaff. Note: this plate has come from an incomplete/irreparable book as we do not cut books for plates. An original beautifully hand-coloured and richly gold-touched lithographed plate on special paper.
