The original edition. This work was edited (by John P. Nicholson) from the Comte de Paris' impressive four-volume work "History of the Civil War in America" and completed with an enlarged and revised "Itinerary of the Army of the Potomac and co-operating forces in the Gettysburg campaign". With the 3 coloured folding maps of warrenton and environs, Gettysburg and of the Field of Cavalry Operations East of Gettysburg. The 70 pages addenda supply data on e.g. the organization of the Armies and Corpses, the return of casualties in the army of the Potamac, the number of Confederate Prisoners of War &c. Spine ends rubbed. Joint front cover split lower side. Hinges slightly weakened, but otherwise a very good copy. Ex Bibliotheca Büch. Excellent survey of the Gettysburg campaign.
