Among these are the celebrated set of tapestries of King Sigismund Augustus and the old Crown Treasury contents. Out of almost 6.000 exhibits at the Castle over 280 are presented (as full-page b/w and coloured plates) in this sumptuous work (Crown Treasury, Armoury, Orientalia, paintings and sculpture, tapestries, furniture, clocks, pottery, manuscripts &c). With index of persons, an extensive bibliography and a catalogue with descriptions of all 281 objects. English text. Unfortunately the original title page replaced by a new made-up one, but otherwise a very fine book and dust-jacket. An astonishing rich collection.
