Daunou (Pierre Claude Francois, 1761 - 1840) was administrator of the "Biblioth�que du Panth�on - Sainte-Genevi�ve) from 1796 till 1804. He described 1058 works, arranged according to the year of publication, from 1459 to 1500. Already at the bequest of Le Tellier in 1710 the library possessed a great number of incunables. This number was considerably enlarged by the acquisition policy of Mercier de Saint-L�ger at the end of the 18th century and also by the taking of a great number of works (by Daunou himself) from the Vatican Library during the french occupation of Rome. Daunou's catalogue of 1058 incunables was published by Miss Marie Pellechet (1840 - 1900) who joined another 250 incunables not described by Daunou. In 1943 Louis-Marie Michon published a supplementory inventory of 245 incunables that were either forgotten by Daunou-Pellechet or acquired after 1892. The catalogue has an introduction by Henri Marie Francois Lavoix (1846 -1897), the library's administrator of that period. With indices of places, printers and authors, concordances to Hain, Mattaire, Debure &c and a systematic index according to subject. Back strengthened with linen, otherwise a very good copy.
