The Battle of the Little Big Horn, Montana, on June 25, 1876 was fought between 611 men of the US 7th Cavalry under command of General Custer and 3000 Oglala Lakota Sioux under command of Crazy Horse. At that battle the US soldiers were annihilated and Custer was killed - as well as his brother. The next year , May 1877, Crazy Horse surrendered to U.S. troops in Nebraska and was stabbed to death by a guard in September of that year when he resisted imprisonment . With an introduction by Ambrose, 16 pages with 22 old b/w photographs (General and Mrs Custer, Crazy Horse &c), 5 maps, several b/w drawings by Kenneth Francis Dewey, a bibliography and an index.
